ES8 er en fem meter lang SUV med firehjulstrekk og en rekkevidde basert på hvilket batteri du velger. Det har seg nemlig sånn at Nio har utviklet et konsept som baserer seg på at du kan bytte ut batteriet i bilen alt ettersom hvor mye kapasitet du har behov for. Prosjektet heter Baas (Battery as a service) og skal også gi muligheten for å leie batterier fremfor å kjøpe de med bilen.
Motoreffekten til NIO ES8 er på kW / hk og den har et maksimalt dreiemoment på nm. Bilen følger også med en liten "robot-assistent" på dashbordet som kan hilse deg velkommen, svare på spørsmål og kommunisere innenfor dens intellektuelle rekkevidde.
